Hex Hosting Community Game Server Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all free community game servers provided by Hex Hosting.
By connecting to or using a Hex Hosting community game server, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. Community Server Access
Hex Hosting community game servers are provided free of charge for community use.
Access is provided at our discretion and does not create any entitlement to continued access, a permanent player slot, stored progress or continued operation of any particular server.
We may add, remove, reset, suspend or close a community server at any time.
2. Server Availability
We aim to keep our community servers available and running reliably, but we do not guarantee continuous uptime or uninterrupted access.
Servers may become unavailable because of maintenance, game updates, hosting provider issues, technical faults, server restarts or circumstances outside our control.
We do not guarantee that any particular community server will remain available indefinitely.
3. Player Conduct
Players are expected to treat other members of the community respectfully.
Players must not:
- Harass, threaten or deliberately target other players.
- Use racist, hateful, discriminatory or seriously abusive language.
- Deliberately disrupt the server or other players’ enjoyment.
- Spam chat, voice communications or other server features.
- Impersonate Hex Hosting staff, administrators or other players.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised administrative access.
- Deliberately exploit vulnerabilities in the server or associated services.
Normal in-game competition, PvP and similar gameplay are permitted where appropriate to the particular game and server rules.
4. Cheating and Exploits
Cheating, hacking or deliberately exploiting bugs is not permitted.
This includes the use of unauthorised software, modified clients, duplication exploits, automation tools or other methods intended to gain an unfair advantage where these are contrary to the rules of the server or game.
Players who discover a serious exploit are encouraged to report it rather than deliberately abusing it.
5. Game-Specific Rules
Individual community servers may have additional rules relating to mods, PvP, building, trading, raids, griefing, progression or other gameplay features.
Where additional rules are displayed on the relevant Hex Hosting server page, Discord channel or within the game server, those rules also apply when using that server.
6. Player Builds, Items and Progress
World data, characters, inventories, builds, items and other in-game progress may occasionally be lost, corrupted, changed or reset.
Although backups may be taken, Hex Hosting does not guarantee that player data or progress can always be recovered or restored.
Players should therefore understand that anything created or obtained on a free community server may potentially be lost.
7. Server Resets and Changes
Hex Hosting may reset, modify or reconfigure a community server where necessary.
Reasons may include:
- Major game updates.
- World or save corruption.
- Performance problems.
- Server balancing.
- Community changes.
- New seasons or fresh starts.
- Technical or security requirements.
Where practical, we will try to give the community reasonable notice before a planned major server reset.
8. Administration and Moderation
Hex Hosting administrators and moderators may take action where necessary to protect the server and community.
This may include:
- Warnings.
- Kicking a player from the server.
- Temporary bans.
- Permanent bans.
We reserve the right to restrict or remove access where we reasonably believe a player has breached these Terms & Conditions, disrupted the community or created a technical or security risk.
Serious breaches may result in immediate removal without a prior warning.
9. Free Community Service
Hex Hosting community game servers are provided as a free community service.
They are separate from Hex Hosting’s paid web hosting and other commercial services unless explicitly stated otherwise.
No service level agreement, guaranteed uptime or guaranteed availability applies to free community game servers.
10. Third-Party Games and Services
Games operated on Hex Hosting community servers remain the property of their respective developers, publishers and rights holders.
Players are responsible for complying with the applicable terms, licences and platform rules for the games and platforms they use.
Hex Hosting is not affiliated with or endorsed by the developers or publishers of any games made available through our community servers unless explicitly stated otherwise.
11. Discord and Community Services
Hex Hosting may use Discord and other third-party services for server announcements, support, community discussions and moderation.
Use of third-party services is also subject to the terms and policies of those services.
12. Security
Players must not attempt to:
- Attack, scan or deliberately interfere with server infrastructure.
- Bypass authentication or access controls.
- Interfere with networking or server software.
- Obtain another user’s private information.
- Access files, systems or services they are not authorised to use.
- Carry out denial-of-service attacks or similar disruptive activity.
Serious abuse may result in immediate removal from Hex Hosting community services.
13. Liability
The community game servers are provided on an “as available” basis.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hex Hosting will not be responsible for loss of in-game progress, virtual items, builds, characters, world data or other losses resulting from outages, resets, technical faults, game updates or use of the community servers.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under UK law.
14. Changes to These Terms
Hex Hosting may update these Terms & Conditions as the community and our game servers develop.
The latest version published on the Hex Hosting website will apply.
Continued use of our community game servers following an update to these Terms & Conditions will constitute acceptance of the updated Terms.
